Sensor Dust
I've had KX, KR, K5 and now K3. The dust alert function shows bad solid dirt BUT I too have had events of marks in clear skies.
I use a rocket blower and have found repeated attempts necessary sometimes (if sticky pollen for example it does take a lot) BUT no liquid cleaning kit needed to date.
I face front of camera downward while doing it to hopefully make dislodged stuff fall out of mirror box.
I also use repeat sensor vibrate function repeatedly first AND have sensor clean turned on for startup and turn off on my K3.
I have the shake function enabled too. A lot quieter than the one in the K100d Super! I'll give it another go.

Mostly I make copious use of the clone tool, and only when I am really fed up with doing that do I set about the sensor.

A few of my photos are showing what I presume is sensor dust.
A small diffuse area that is clear in sky shots.
I have used a rocket blower to no avail.
What I want to ask is how effective the dust alert function is on the K5iis (or equivalent). I have used this and it shows nothing.
Thoughts welcome before I look at getting a cleaning kit!
