Selection of Pentax gear in Wilkinsons, Chester

No, not Wilko. Wilkinsons Cameras, in Frodsham Street, Chester. The signage suggested that this has recently been taken over (I've been to the shop many times, but can't remember if the name has changed), and the only Pentax equipment they seemed to have is piled in a corner of the window display near the door.

I can't say exactly what was there (I went on September 14th) but I recall a couple of lenses down either from £349 to £299, or from £399 to £249. Also a couple of boxed KP models, perhaps kits, at £899. I'm out of touch with new Pentax prices, so I don't know whether they're "real" discounts or just labelled against a high RRP that no-one ever charges. And don't quote me on the exact numbers.

Looking at that ( I didn't go in to ask ) it looks as if they've stopped selling new Pentax equipment. But maybe they're just clearing stuff out for a big new order.

They used to be called Camera Solutions but have now been acquired by Wilkinson Cameras.

I suspect they will stock/sell a lot less Pentax going forward

Camera Solutions used to have a lot of Pentax (including binos and scopes). Wilkinsons basically don't stock Pentax anymore (shame as most of my kit was bought from them). Had to buy my K-1 from SRS...
