Love #1 with the silhuette on the 'hill' - Great sky and water colours - I'd be tempted to crop it more letterbox though

Hi,
I like #2 better. But both are stunning!

Off thread I know but Dilek Where is Konya?
Born again biker with lots of Pentax bits. Every day I wake up is a good day. I'm so old I don't even buy green bananas.

Another vote for no:2 although there is a bit too much
black in it.

Nice shots. I agree with the others on the black though. If you crop the bottom off of both shots until the horizon meets the third you should have a pair of stunners.

I really like them both. I think #2 would work well as a letterbox crop, losing a lot of the black foreground.

Thanks folks, I'll get cropping later.

I was struggling not to make the horizons on the halfway mark and a leaner crop will suit and cut out a bit of the black.

I second the others, cropping is in due order here. I remember one of my friends who has a passion for film black and white photography showing me his photo book. After which he told me that 95% of the photos were cropped from other photos. Cropping in itself is an art (!

Beautiful photos by the way, and that tagline "There Goes Your Summer", just made it spot on!

Well thanks for the input folks. Had a quick look and I think my letterbox is a funny shape and it has fuzzy brushes in it so, I did it by eye trying to balance the dark and sky a little more. I do like the dark bits so I may have kept more than some would want.

I'll try again next Summer

I like all the black too and I think the crops have worked well. I couldn't get down to the Hoe as you suggested as I was off to Portugal but I did manage to take a late evening shot or two in Portugal. I have uploaded one but don't know how to do the link.
