Salt burn by the Sea

A photograph from a bitterly cold sunrise at Saltburn on the NE coast. While I had hoped for a little more drama in the sky, I do like the subtle tones in the image.

It was taken with a K3 + Sigma 17-50mm f2.8

My favourite pier - I was there on Wednesday - but the sky was dull flat uniform grey and it started raining so I moved on.

I like the almost pastel tones in this shot and the crisp, fresh feel about it. I don't think the lack of any drama in the sky detracts from it at all.

No matter how many lenses I have owned - I have always needed just one more

Yeah pity about the sky. The exposure has captured the movement in the foreshore perfectly

Very nice colours, exposure and sense of movement! The sky has plenty of good colour, so works well I think. I'd just question the rather square crop, which I don't think suits it well ... Lower and wider would be preferable IMO. Thanks for showing this great capture

I agree about the square crop but a nice image. Is the pier really bent about 1/3 of the way along or is that an illusion?
C&C welcome.

It is a nice image for colour, but the pier looks odd to me - not for the bend but for the supporting columns. If it were mine I would correct the distortion (probably due to the camera being tilted down to include the foreground waves), to make vertical the central column of each group of three.
