Roll of film loose when removing from Pentax 67

I have just started shooting to a Pentax 67 and when I go to remove the film from the camera once it is exposed, the film is quite loose on the spool, and I have to roll it by hand. I have tried winding it lots and not as much once my last frame is shot.

Does anybody know of this happening, and how to avoid it, as I assume it is damaging my negs.

If you Google "loose roll film on take up spool" there is quite a bit of discussion on the Internet concerning this problem. I have never experienced it personally, but it seems that it is quite common. Hope this helps

cheers, I went home and banged through an old roll of Foma100 and held the film tight with my thumb as I advanced it and kept pressure on the winding lever while closing the door, and it was nicely rolled when I took the film out. I think I just got lazy from loading my RZ backs.

Thank you

Anthony
