Having binged watched most of this series on Netflix last night, I have to say the cinema photography is spellbinding.
Its ninety percent in B@W but sometimes gradually seeps a little hint of colour.
Truly a fantastic feast for the eyes and clearly shows the directors love of photographic stills.
The compositions, the tones, the settings, the lighting , it never ceases and cannot recommend this highly enough for anyone who has not seen it.
All probably achieved with the help of AI

I finished watching it last night too. The b+w filming is perfect for the story.

I have never read the book, but liked the 1999 film a lot. This series is supposed to be far truer to the book, and in my view is a masterpiece.

Thanks for the recommendation guys - it's painful trying to find quality amongst the high budget yet poorly written and acted dross that we've started watching recently
