As above - see here

If you have a/c data stored on that site, you'd better log in and download it; also, if you have any "loyalty points" you'll lose them if not used by 5th Sept.

TBH, this doesn't surprise me at all after the "change of direction" strategy announced by Ricoh in Japan earlier this year!
K-3 II, K-3 and a K-70 from SRS (having now relegated the K-30 /"K-50" to a backup body), & some Sigma and Pentax lenses (and a lot of old 35mm gear!)

And to be replaced by brand-orientated websites, which sounds like there will be a Pentax website. A single worldwide website for Pentax, just select your language, all purchases through the same website wherever you live? Sounds OK to me, if that's what it's all about.

Good point, Steve. As you say, 'if that's what it's all about.'

I'll be interested where this goes.

I personally think, that this is a future for most niche high value goods brands.
The low volume of sales will make it easy to apply for the niche brand to sell directly to the customer.

i recenctly purchased a carbon fibre tripod "Rollie Beta MKii " which came supplied with the T5ii ball head directly from Rollie Germany for 199 euros plus 15 postage, basically half price.
The deal was there for months on end because they were awaiting the arrival of the MKiii version.
Ricoh(pentax) are probably applying a similar strategy to be competitive to ensure survival and reach customers directly rather than supplying various vendors to do the job.
They probably will keep the best of the high street sellers that they have, but maybe not

Received an email from them and they are opening new websites by brand. All your account will be transfered to the new website.

That's strange. The email I had said, "Your data will not be transferred to the new websites."

Me too. Not sure if data privacy law would allow the transfer without your explicit permission.
