Review of 645Z - better late than never

For those interested, who haven't already seen it, here is Nasim Mansurov's review of the 645Z: https://photographylife.com/reviews/pentax-645z . He finds plenty to like about it. His reservations? The autofocus and the lack of an electronic shutter ... and partly because of a hand injury, the bulk and weight of the camera. But he loves the quality of the output. His suspicion is that the relative success of the camera has tempted Fuji to enter the fray (early next year) with their mirrorless camera carrying the same size sensor as the Pentax.

My guess is that Pentax will have moved on before Fuji release their mirrorless MF camera. 53mm x 40mm at 100mp.

It will be interesting to see what new Ricoh's come out too.

Ever the optimist.

Yes , but how significant is the reduction in weight? The reviewer has already stated this camera is too heavy.

Too heavy for who, or to do what? Its not meant to be carried around and used handheld, is it? Surely its true natural place is firmly locked onto a big solid tripod ....

Only 20kg! Respect, reminiscent of early landscape pioneers who trailed around with a large plate camera and wooden tripod. There's me worrying whether an extra kilo for another lens in the bag would be too much.
