removing a flash that's stuck

Take the batteries out of the flash and camera. Find a fine blade or possibly scraper and jiggle in between.

I've done pretty much that, but in the process the foot of the flash has broken, but the K1ii is fine, I've tested it with the AF201FG #phew
Looking for a replacement flash now.

Somewhere warm and sunny
before anyone say it, yes I have the lever pulled all the way to the left however it seems the pin is not lifting
does anyone have any ideas?
