Have just brought my Pentax K-5 from SRS Microsystem based in Watford

http://www.srsmicrosystems.co.uk/

Ordered on line and it arrived the next day via ParcelForce.

Also received a free copy of Elements 9

They also do a Part ex but I could not be bothered to travel to Watford from Essex to do the deal.

Does anyone have any experience of using UKDigitalCameras? Just curious about levels of service and other quality issues as I've not come across them until reasonably recently.

Jacobs Digital in London is really one of the best places to buy from. Check them out here. Good advice also you just have to pick up the phone.

Jacobs in Leeds are pretty good too... Quite often have to order in stock to fit K-mount for you to try, but cool to do so...

Also seem happy to price-match with SRS, Jessops, etc...

Devon Camera Centre in Exeter, ordered in a K5 with the 18-135mm lens for me to try on the basis of one phone call from someone they didn't know - I think they went the extra mile. While I was in trying the camera I was also really impressed with how much attention they also gave to students with very little money too spend.

I ordered a tripod & head from Redsnapper yesterday at 11.00a.m., it was dispatched at 12.30 & arrived here in Wiltshire this morning at 11.45!

That's what I call service!

The equipment looks good as well1

I ordered a Sigma 150 - 500mm lens and tripod from SRS Micro Systems of Watford and was very impressed with their service, they answered all my questions and the lens arrived the following day. Unfortunately the tripod wasn't with it but after a quick phone call I found out that it was on order so that was fine, if its not in stock its not in stock just have to be patient lol. I would definitely recommend them and will be using them again myself.

I am going to go the opposite way and say who i would recommend AVOIDING!
http://www.simplyelectronics.net ... I ordered a Sigma 120-400mm lens and some screen protectors from them and we're now almost a month down the line and i am still waiting for my stuff and have no idea if and when i will get it. They are very difficult to get hold of and dont respond to mail or phone so i cant even cancel the order and go elsewhere.

If it's the same Simply Electronics that deals on Amazon, many members here will have already bought items from them. I seem to recall buying a 40mm f/2.8 Limited lens, with no problems at all.

The lens you mention is marked in stock, so I would renew efforts to contact them and if that fails I presume you used a Credit card, so contact the card company for a refund.

Hope that helps and that your lens has merely been diverted by an inefficient carrier.
Best regards, John

HCSD cards, cheapest place I've found is The 7 day shop!

All items are free of Vat(they are in the channel islands), and post free.
