I needed to send a quantity of mounted prints by courier and be sure they wouldn't be damaged.

This company Nomad make superb print boxes and even dispatch before your cheque has cleared.

I have joined the(increasing number of) people who have had v. good service from Red Snapper.

Ordered on the 28th., my ball-head arrived this morning. Excited with the quality of the unit, I went to put it on my (v. old) Slik 88, to replace the "pan & tilt" head.

A different female thread under the R/S head to the male on the Slik!!!
Rang R/S, spoke to a very personable chap, who, patiently, told me to look in the bottom of the box where I would find a thread adaptor......
complete with a "spanner" with which to fix it!

A felt a bit of a $*^&*%£"^((* , but...

Red Snapper is RECOMMENDED!

The more I look, the more there is to see!

(In my defence, may I just add that I haven't bought anything to do with a tripod since (Slik) (19)88!

Just a quick note to say what brilliant service I received from Cardiff Camera Centre. I bought a new Sigma 150-500 from their Ebay store at around 2.00PM yesterday, phoned them up and spoke to Matt to pay by Visa, and the lens was on my doorstep before 8.00am this morning. At £599 and free delivery, I don't see how anyone can improve on that

I have not been through all these pages to see if they have been mentioned before but I would just like say that I have been very impressed with the friendly and excellent service from Walters Photo Video Limited in Cardiff. They are a Pentax Pro Centre, appear to have good competitive prices and free next-day delivery for items over £150.

I have just received my order of a DA70 limited from them.

Like many on-line suppliers it is worth ringing them to check stock availability as the web site is not always up to date but they were able to source my out-of-stock new lens in a couple of days.

Back when I was a student I used MXV in Uckfield East Sussex but sadly they have now gone.

I buy a fair amount from Park Cameras who are just round the corner in Burgess Hill.

They've got a massive showroom and their prices are normally one of the cheapest for new products. Also they get a lot of current digital slr's in 2nd hand.

I have also price matched them to ABC Digital Cameras a few times. So if their not the cheapest they tend to be flexible.

I have had repeated, excellent service from:-

Premier Ink and Photographic.
Their product range is expanding all the time.

The small battery Company.
The small battery company, stocks a good number of obscure battery types, also has a great depth of knowledge, on alternative/compatible batteries.

I can second Morris photo. Ordered from them a few times, never had a problem, they know their stuff, have competitive pricing, a good range, and deliver quickly.

I bought some gear from Premier Ink and Photographic on Sunday night. With me first post on Tuesday.

They don't seem to do cameras, but do everything else (filters, memory, batteries, studio, bags, etc) and other office supplies.

A word - complimentary for Jessops. I know that they went sour on Pentax a while back and some of you indicated you would never darken their doors again!!

But yesterday I purchased a K5 from their Birmingham Store. The store has been completely redesigned/renovated and is a pleasure to visit/browse and the staff were extremely helpful and were prepared to 'negotiate'.

Have a look at the topic I started yesterday link.

So from a sales point of view - excellent - if I need it I hope their after sales service is just as good!

On a dark desert highway, cool Pentax K5 in my hand.

Interesting site Gareth.

Sadly they seem (yet again) to only deliver to UK postcodes, not abroad.
I can't keep asking my brother to accept parcels for me.
