Hi All,

Not sure what its called but I saw a couple of these on here before and I liked the effect, so here is my first attempt.
(the mask is a bit wobbly but I was doing it with the touch pad on the laptop)

Hi Paul,
The first effort looks good, technically speaking.(although you missed some parts) Composition wise it could be better. I find it a bit to busy for my taste.
There is not really a focal point. Now my eyes keep wondering over the picture. And if you color in something, just keep it to one color. And make sure that part gets all the attention.
To illustrate it I post an example of my own. Not that it is perfect, but only to give you an idea of what I mean. Hope it helps.

FatherTed,

I got my inspiration from this thread in the digital forum. If you have a computer and a copy of Photoshop (and probably any other photo editing program) you should be able to do it.

Malo1961,

Much better
The background is nice OOF. And the eye is automatically drawn to the red leaf. No other distraction. Very pleasing on the eye. To bad about the harsh shadow on the red leaf. But again........ a big leap forward. keep them coming.

Martin.
