Vic,
'Replica' Manx Norton's have been in existence for some years and provide the same experience to today's riders as they would have done back in the 50's and with greater reliability and safety. Advances in metallurgy and the onset of computers and lasers allows tighter tolerances and better precision manufacturing of parts and complete bikes than was feasible before.

With the formation of the Classic Motorcycle Racing Club in around 1980 the continuing interest in older bikes (not catered for by the Vintage Motorcycle Club racing section) was stimulated and the club has it's own series for 500cc bikes hence the continued enthusiasm for the Manx Norton.

Original bikes are probably to valuable to race now.

Quite a list there Graham. I didn't even know they existed. The last original one I saw was 2yrs ago at Mallory on a wed. track practice day and an old fella was getting his ready for that yrs. Manx GP in the September. He said he does a lap in the mid 90's. He was in his 70's.
My oldest lad (51) used to be the fuel man for a race team called Phase One. they won the world endurance championship in 93, 2000, and 2003. He now looks after a friends (also 51) bike which he won his class championship (Roadstock I think) at Mallory last year.
I occasionally go on a Wed. when they are practicing. Cars in the AM. and bikes in the PM.
