"Profile zoom" 35 - 70mm lens

I have had this 35 - 70mm zoom lens for a long time but there is next to nothing to found regarding it. It takes lovely sharp pictures with vibrant colours (one in the gallery today - an orange coloured flower). It has an 'A' button and is a push-pull zoom with a macro feature at the long end.

The engraved name is PROFILE ZOOM 1:3.5~4.5 35~70mm

Anyone know about them (or even experience with it).

I've not used the f/3.5 - f/4.5 version, but I've got two
copies of the constant f/4 version and it's a very sharp
lens even at f/4. Much better than the F Series 35-70mm
that everyone raves about and a really nice lens to use.

Edit: Sorry it's possible that you aren't talking about
a Pentax made lens ....... Is Profile the maker?

Profile is the brand name. I've got one. Haven't used it much but thought it was pretty decent for the £15 it cost me.

I got hold of a Pentax A 35-70mm zoom the other day and it looks very much as if the 'Profile' version is the identical animal. The knurling on the zoom ring is slightly different and the colour of the paint in the engraved numbers is different. There is no engraving on the front ring where it would say "PENTAX SMC etc etc ". Otherwise, set the two side by side and you can't tell the difference.
