Given that most if not all new cameras are chargeable over USB-C or micro-USB, which means they should charge from portable battery packs, this seems too late to be useful. I believe Canon is the only manufacturer whose cameras, while technically chargeable from USB-C, need a special charger to do so. Other makes can use a standard phone charger.

What he said ... can't see a market for a charger to work from power tool batteries ... and certainly not at $250.
Power packs are readily available at a tenth of that or even solar chargers if the photographer is away from a mains supply.
The second point about new technologies is interesting

DO new Pentax cameras come with a USB option for charging batteries as standard?
I know I could buy a third party charger for mine, but I am curious if they now come with that option.

In the longer term, this technology should improve power issues.
