This one taken in Belgium, Essex Farm WWI cemetery-- I saw the 'backlighting' on the British Union flag and used my 75-150mm f4 SMC Pentax-M lens for the perspective ,on my 1995 MZ-5 loaded with 2008 outdated Kodak Colourplus 200 rated at 125 ASA, printed by Boots and a print scanned.

Having taken relatively few pics this year I suppose my fave has to be this one snapped at the Whitby Goth Weekend, I'm still hoping their mum contacts me for a copy as I think it's a really nice snap, I don't even mind the Ice Cream Parlour background.

I guess one of my most recent ones is my whimsical favorite. A four shot panoramic taken with an IR converted K20d

Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.

Great thread with some fantastic images that make me jealous as Hell of the talent and opportunities

Like some others 2014 didn't give me anywhere near the joy it should have done photographically as time was never on my side. Hoping my Christmas prezzie of a Q will let me get more interesting photos while at work and driving around when can't have the K-5 with me!

I like this one though. Only a humble Hoverfly but I'd tried and failed so many times to nail the focus and I think I got the focus and lighting right on this one (If I say so myself hehe)

A great thread, full of lovely images. A real pleasure to browse through. And Gwyn's contributions are especially welcome.

I can't think of a "best" image from 2014 but here's a rare portrait of Will, my son, with whom I have shared some very special days this year.

Taken with my camera of the year, the remarkable MX-1.
Happy new year, everybody.
Best wishes,

Andrew

I had my first railway photo published in 2005 but it took until November 2014 to get my first 'cover shot' (below). It was the last photo taken on a cycling holiday in Devon & Cornwall, before I caught the train home from Penzance.

The photo was relevant to one of the feature articles in the magazine, so though not great artistically, it was a case of right-place, right-time.

Perhaps someone can tell me why the Image > Browse > Insert Image routine is not working for me. The intended image in my above post is 600x400 and less than 100kB.

Welcome back Peter. I've been waiting for someone more experienced than me in these matters to advise you on what's gone wrong with your link. Have you tried sending a PM to the PU team?

Hi Peter

Are you trying to link to an image file stored on your PC hard drive, or are you linking to an image on a website?
