Picture using my NPS 400mm F5.9 M42 lens
The lens is excellent (when you get the manual focus bang on) considering it's age and cost, I am happy with it.
I bought this and the Tokina 300mm to practice with longer lenses and to help decide if I would use something such as a Sigma 150-500, thing is I have no immediate plans to upgrade now as I like these lenses as lot

Photo's from it can look a bit low in contrast however the contrast slider in camera raw does not solve the issue but a small slide to the right with the black slider and the photo's come to life
After that just normal raw processing is needed.
Things have got better since I obtained a lens hood for it though
It's a shame that the weather will be wet this weekend it's about time it had another outing
Oh yeah - a sturdy tripod is a must it's an unwieldy beasty
