It’s curious how wildlife is unperturbed by small craft, this looks fascinating. Any chance of seeing some results?

You can get closer than 20 feet from grebes with an electric boat as Daniel did in this post....

I've seen electric trolling motors attached to kayaks like that.
I use a small inflatable boat with a modified solid wood floor and electric motor .
I am however saving up for a larger zihune crane2 gimbal with monopod to scrap the tripod altogether, the idea being to mount the gimbal to the mono pod and mount the mono pod directly to the boat... this way I switch from stills to video and back and even if the waves are a lil choppy I can still shoot.

Fired many shots. Didn't kill anything.

I’ve combined my photography with my kayaking.
I tether my tripod to the kayak at three points.
It will not tip or sink if I capsize.
I launch the kayak first, get in and then set camera to tripod.
Camera is the first to shore on my return.
A dry bag is tethered to tripod in case of waves, wind or weather.
So far so good.
I am able to calmly approach wildlife.
Sometimes it takes an hour or more and a lot of frames.
Usually come away with one or two keepers.
Do not try this at home!
