Pentax warning on rechargeable CRV3's

Just had a couple of weeks away (sunny Cornwall), and started having problems with my AA's again. After a few dozen shots, they'd show half power.
"Blast", I'd say (I think that was the word ), and try switching off, then back on, and usually they'd show as full.
I use a 'D', with battery grip, and had long since stopped using two sets of batteries, as many people seem to have had problems with that set-up. So for the last year I've just been using one set, in the grip (for ease of removal for charging). Anyway, thought I'd try the cells in the body instead, and problem solved, no more half power warnings. I'm guessing there's a dodgy contact in the grip, or between grip and body. Just a bit more of a pain for swapping batteries, as I have to take the grip off each time, but then I'm doing it less often. All good.
Anyway, I'm certainly not going to spend £30+ on a new charger, not with Li-Ion beckoning...

There is most definitely a problem having 2 sets of batteries in a *istd + BG1 combo, there is, definitely, really, there is, take it from me.
I had the same issues as everybody else on this forum, the battery life would occasionally show minimal, zero, nada, DEAD, until powering off and on again. I stopped using 2 sets of batteries and from that day I never had a problem.
Recently, for some obscure (too much wine) reason I reverted to two sets, fully charged (in my shiny new Ansmann Energy 8 charger), all identical in every respect. I took the kit out and within 30 minutes I got the dreaded 'NO POWER' symbol.
If you have any further doubts, trust me, remove the batteries from the camera and just use the grip set. No problem, honest.

Ah, no Peter, I was using just one set in the grip, but still having problems. It was only when I just used them in the body that the problem went away.
I've only been using one set for quite a while now, too.
Perhaps it will be sorted for the K10D
