My subscrition is up for renewal. I am not sure of the value of this membership. There was sommething about getting a physical magazine that meant I was happy paying the £16 or whatever it was. I am not sure that the current benefits are very attractive...

Anybody else got any views? What do you think of the extra articles another post, the discounts etc.?

I would encourage the PU admin team to post views and for the Pentax rep (who joined in on another post recently) to post views within this thread.

By the way I am hapy with forum in general its just the PU membership that i am thinking about.

I have PU Plus membership and don't really think much of it, I initially signed up for it because there was a particular article that I thought I'd find useful, though in reality the information was available elsewhere.

To be fair I think I'd find it better value if I contributed more to forum. I don't post many images and don't make suggestions for interesting articles so it's kind of hard to complain too much.

I see it simply as a way of supporting the site.
I miss the magazine, but that's the way things are. I am happy to pay a bit to keep the site going.

I don't think the subscription is much to pay and I don't think we should begrudge paying it. The website has to be funded somehow and I for one get a lot of pleasure from it by posting pictures, commenting on pictures posted by others, entering competitions and contributing to the forum now and again.

I have learned a lot from the knowledgeable people on this site and also made some great new friends.

Mines up for renewal as well - they were sending me emails every half hour the other day reminding me, I eventually blocked their email address to stop them.

I'm afraid I shan't be renewing mine.

I understand the repeat e-mail problem has been solved.

I see the main benefits as being the 20% discount on servicing, the SRS 10% discount on accessories and the ability to post unlimited images in the Gallery.

No doubt others will see different benefits, but in any event it is helping to support things.

I've just renewed, works out at about 3 pence a day over the year. I like the site, the articles and the forums so this is a way for me to support these things

I like to support the site, but still yearning for the magazine. I'd be happy to increase the support to receive the magazine again, but it doesn't seem likely.

I liked the magazine as well, I think one of the problems with it though is that there is rarely any Pentax news.

I too liked the magazine. I liked writing for it as well.

I have a huge pile of PU magazines that date back a long, long way, not a complete set but pretty good. You can't replicate that with an on-line version. Someone could wander in to the house, pick up a few of them and start finding interesting things they didn't know. On the web you have to search. It's a different process.

If anyone wants any back issues, they have almost all gone, but I have kept 5 copies each of all the issues remaining, just in case anyone ever wants any. PM me if intersted in any particular issue and I'll see if any remain.
Best regards, John

I joined as a subscriber just as (sadly) the magazine was winding down.

This forum (and by and large its membership) is excellent and has contributed to my staying and expanding my photography with Pentax.

Just renewed mine. As I see it, it's a way of supporting the site and, although I don't contribute very much, I sign in every day and I have learned a lot just by lurking.
I've also got my subscription back by postage saved on purchases from SRS.
Regards,
Dave.

Same here David I use the site daily and its great value in my opinion good to support the site plus all the points already raised.
I would certainly miss it if it were no longer here
All the best
