pentax user , greyscale monitor calibration guide

There is mention of a greyscale monitor calibration at the bottom of the homepage.
Is there an article on how best to best use this.
Also on a MAC , there's is a Colour Synch Utility and a
DIGITAL COLUR METER...does any have knowledge of the benefits of such apps.?

Just underneath:
"Please calibrate your monitor so you can see 16 different shades from pure white to black."
Just adjust your monitor like you would your TV to meet that criteria. Each monitor will have its own instructions for how to go about that, or you may prefer to leave the monitor as it is and adjust the computer display card settings instead. Normally there's a wizard to help with that.
Don't over think it!

the colour spectrum fades at 85%.
