is their a fee for the service ? do i need to give a reason? or does it only apply to old lens?

Do you mean change the lenses from APS-C to full frame?

As far as I know.... if the lenses are Pentax mount then they will fit the K1, but if they're not full frames lenses the K1 won't shoot at full frame.

Don't think you can convert them to full frame tho??!!

My recent understanding is Sigma have exhausted their supply of PK mounts, it does put a very tiny scratch on the underside of the K1 casing directly above the lens hole, the non converted lenses there are about 6 lenses that were affected, a list may still be about on the www somewhere

Off the top of my head ...

Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 OS HSM
85mm F/1.4 HSM
70-200mm f/2.8 OS HSM
50-500mm OS HSM
150-500mm OS HSM

As Chris said, pretty sure Sigma don't do it any longer though.

Can you get lenses converted?

They were all full frame lenses to begin with.

The problem with these particular lenses is that Sigma changed the mount slightly for some reason and when the K-1 and K-P were released the new mount was slightly too deep and caused the lens to scratch a line into the camera body. Sigma made a new mount and for quite a time would collect your lens, change the mount and return it for free. They also sent my K-1 back to Pentax Japan for a new body piece where the mark was.

Great company SIgma.

If the lens is designed specifically for asp-c and produces an image circle that is too small for the FF sensor then the answer is no.

Some lenses (like the Pentax DA* 60-250), have the optical ability to produce a larger image circle but was prevented from doing so by the fitting of a baffle. Many have had success in removing the baffle and making the lens fully FF compatible.

Thanks for the info.

This has been a learning curve!

I had a Sigma 70-200mm that was dropped and replaced under insurance. The newer lens I have, the OS HSM version has the new mount on it so it doesn't catch the body. The old lens, that's still here also has the newer lens mount on it. The insurance company wanted the old lens back, why I don't know and I agreed saying come and get it. Said lens is still here after nearly 2 years in the attic. Wonder how long I have to keep it for them before using that mount for any other Sigma lens I may buy in the future that doesn't have the newer mount!
