I was wondering if any of the currently available Full Frame cameras from other manufacturers would work with Pentax FA and/or DFA lenses? Are there K-Mount adapters available for Full Frame cameras?

If so has anyone out there tried it out?

Thanks,
Mark

It's often a hard way to achieve things, but for what is and isn't possible then I'd suggest SRB Griturn, who make any adapter known to man and probably a few that aren't.

AF and metering are usually lost and sometimes infinity focus is too. Without an aperture ring, such as in DA lenses, then you might also find minimum aperture is the only available choice. Not good.

Canon EOS DSLRs have a very short mount to image plane distance, so that would be your best bet I would think. M42 lens to EOS body is a common use case, I'm not sure if K lens to EOS body is doable but if it's not, you're basically stuck.
you don't have to be mad to post here

but it does help

I use some of my older lenses with aperture rings on the Canon 7D (via an adapter purchased off Ebay) and they work pretty well in av mode. There is a problem when using them on a Canon FF camera though, the mirror is set further forward and it will hit the aperture lever of Pentax lenses causing it to shatter.

Some interesting replies there, thanks folks. Sounds like it's more trouble than it's worth though!

Pentax lenses on NEX 7 with lens turbo adaptor - near enough full frame and a real delight with SMC-M lenses, my favourites being 28/2 and 50/1,7 on this body.
