I think both live view and view finder focus selection points are set by the AF mode i.e. if you have spot focus selected it's the same for live view as for in the viewfinder.
No, just checked. Even if you have 'focus point select' turned on, once you go into LV, you have to make the choice again.

I suppose in theory that's right, but in its present incarnation, there is no liveview image showing in the app so presently that's purely theoretical!
There is on my mini iPad, works perfectly.

Sorry for coming back to this so late.
I had the same problem as you, John. I wouldn't get the image using my Samsung Note 4. I did a factory reset of my phone a couple of weeks ago and was very pleasantly surprised that Image Sync started working perfectly. So perhaps you should go down that route as well - not sure what device you are using.
Cheers.

I've a Moto G and a Samsung Galaxy Mini S 4 - same problem with both.
Thanks for the suggestion and I could try that but I suppose doing a factory reset means having to reinstall all the programs again. Worried I might loose the ones I've paid for! Prefer it with Windows where you're given a code number or similar to activate them, Not sure where I'd go if the paid for programs default to unpaid versions, certainly wouldn't want to pay again. You'll gather I'm not impressed with mobile phone OS's and try and avoid the things altogether!

The beauty of Android is that it will automatically install all your apps, as long as you have used the same email address on your new (or reset) phone. This also includes your paid for apps - the OS recognises what apps you have paid for.

Apologies if this question has been posted before but I couldn't find the topic on searching the forum.
My question is how can I change the focal point during live view? Currently it is set at the centre and I have not found any way of moving it to another position.
Your help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
