In camera processed JPG's Full Size. various lenses.

If the results are as sharp as the parrot shot, I'm selling
my K-5 and getting a K-50

No need for FF either

Why not a K30, same camera just different shape and cheaper

It looks like there has been a big improvement in the in
camera processing software, particularly the sharpening.

The parrot is....
1(Fine SharpnessON)
also ....
Custom images Reversal Film

No Contrast tweak though.

RAW's are probably the same.

That parrot shot is as sharp as anything I've seen from an APS-C camera.....400 ISO too...

I'm not sure if I want the camera or the lens...both probably

Above makes interesting reading, if you are thinking of buying a K50 over a K30.....

Some very impressive shots, but so they should be: just look at the quality of the lenses used. That has to have a significant effect in sharpness and contrast.
Best wishes,

Andrew

I don't know, sure a lot of them are taken with the DA* glass, but there's at least one shot in there with the 18-55 kit lens, another with the DA 35 f/2.4 entry level prime.

What is the use of showing these examples when if you ask a dealer for PENTAX especially here in Philippines the answer is that "We do not stock PENTAX" -- I have been searching many dealers in all the shopping Malls here in CEBU, cannot find ONE stocking Pentax ! Oh well, back to my 'Old' K10D when I want 'Digital' !! It still works !
been a member of Pentax Club since the Ron Spillman era! Got COMPUTERISED at last - DIGITISED? Taken the PLUNGE - BUT FILM STILL RULES !!!

I'm surprised that you haven't tried that lens. It's really exceptional, although a big lump. The sharpening is a bit too much for my liking, the background noise is a bit much. There is too much moire in the feathers for my liking as well. I'm always a little surprised at the test images they put out. Couldn't they get someone to take a better photo than this, I mean it's not a keeper is it with that compo and yucky background.

What's a Flurble?
