Pentax k-30 Sandisk Ultra 32 GB class10 card - card memory error on cameara startup or format card

HI,
I bought new sd card for my K-30 and is showing memory card error on startup. Is this card compatible with my camera. I have firmware v 1.0 will upgrade to latest help.

Please let me know as I am not sure if must buy some older card version or it could be fixed.

Have you tried formatting the card? The option to do that is in set-up 3 (see page 219 of the camera manual.)
If that doesn't solve it I'd try a different card as it might be faulty.
Given there have been six firmware updates for the K-30 it might be a good idea to update it anyhow, but you'll need a working SD card to do that. Download firmware v1.06 here. However none are stated to have any effect on the SD card.
If formatting doesn't solve it, come back here and advise what card it is you're using and if other cards work OK? Is it just this particular one?

If its a micro sd card in a holder , try sliding the switch .

Yes, even standard SD cards have a switch.

Or it could be a duff one it can happen with the amount they make
