Usual Photorumors link...Here

£1500 - £1800? Not bad to start with as it will surely drop within a couple of months.

Pretty good considering the K5 was £1200 when it came out

I'd like to think it will be an announcement of a launch date but I'm not holding my breath. Unless of course the launch date has now gone from Spring to September.

Sorry I can't be more positive, but Pentax's history of announcements/delivery don't fill you with great expectations..!!

It is a Photokina year, so maybe they are waiting for that to launch it. It would be nice if it went on sale straight afterwards though.

Pentax are showing a 2016 Spring debut for it and Photokina isn't until September. My guess is the 1st April as a payback for all the previous rumours that were doing the rounds in recent years.

I think not. This announcement is aimed at those of us with 35mm film era lenses as a reassurance that they will be fully compatible (and encourage us to buy the camera!) but Pentax will continue to introduce new digital FA lenses including, hopefully, a really good 'kit' lens for the launch.

How about this: http://www.srsmicrosystems.co.uk/lenses/pentax-lenses/pentax-k-mount-lenses/pent...

That looks like a good bet as a standard FF lens.

Standard lens, yes, kit lens, no. Rather too pricey for that. Maybe there'll be a re-vamped 28-70mm f/4 as a kit lens. Personally, although I won't be buying the camera, I'd like to see it released with a prime kit lens - either a 35mm f/2 or a 50mm f/1.7. Re-vamped FA to DFA models, of course, with improved build quality, optics, coatings etc etc.

I think a prime kit lens would be good for Pentax as they've largely built their lens reputation on their primes rather than zooms.

There is a standard zoom DFA 28-105 listed on the lens roadmap alongside the DFA15-30 f/2.8 Presumably this will be the kit lens offering?

.....or a revamped FA24-90 - a superb little lens, with excellent IQ, ghostless coating and superb zoom range. I believe it was one of the last FA lenses to be introduced, so hopefully one of the first to return

I use mine quite regularly, and have a "spare" just returned from Son-in-Law loan

Should we realistically expect to see the new full frame camera on show at the upcoming Photography Show at the NEC in March, and more to the point if it is there then not just view it through a glass case but actually be able to hold and use it?
