Pentax should de-click all new lenses..... so video people don't have to
--
Haven't they gone one better and done away with the aperture ring altogether?
De-clicking old Pentax lenses should be made a criminal offence and offenders banned from using anything Pentax ever again.
I'm not trying to incite a Pentax riot but what is the practical problem of using a de-clicked lens on a Pentax DSLR?
As long as the camera can still control the aperture then isn't it potentially a good thing?
Why do they use a de-clicked lens anyway? The DOF will change as they stop down plus possibly focus shift. All editors can do fades in and out anyway

It wouldn't stay on the 'A' setting (no ball bearing)

The A setting uses a separate locking mechanism (on all the lenses I've seen) so de-clicking doesn't affect operation.
My question is, does a de-clicked lens still measure exposure correctly when using green button metering?
Proper de-clicking requires a mechanical brake inside the lens, otherwise it's too sloppy and loose
