" A Hangover is something that occupies the Head you neglected to use the night before".
-------------------------------------------------------------
K1 - Sigma 85mm F1.4, Pentax DFA 150 -450 F4.5 / 5.6, Pentax DFA* 24 - 70 F2.8
Samyang 14mm F2.8, Pentax DFA* 70-200 F2.8, Pentax A 50mm F1.2
K3iii + K3ii + K5iis converted to IR, Sigma 17 - 70 F2.8, Pentax 55 - 300 F4.5 / F5.6 PLM
But a very good shout - the Sigma has HSM as well as still being a smashing performer. I wonder how they fare head to head?
Fan of DA limited and old manual lenses
From the reviews I've read, I'd be very surprised if the Sigma isn't better in every way.
Shameless plug out of the way, anyone interested 😉 in the Sigma 85mm F1.4 ?
I can upload or send images if need be, but it's boxed, perfect condition with caps and all literature.

A brand new Samyang 85mm for c.£200-300 might be a better buy, it certainly doesn't get bad reviews.
FWIW, there's a used UK Sigma on eBay BIN or make offer currently for £549, said to be in excellent condition.
Re that Pentax 85mm, why would the aperture ring be missing the detents between apertures? I can only think the lens has been disassembled cack-handedly and the ball bearing has been lost.
Good observation. The lens has been disassembled which isn't a good sign. I wouldn't go for it personally.

Agreed, not at that price/condition.

Or it may have been "de-clicked" for video purposes - not unknown for videography enthusiasts
Should be worth more if it was professionally de-clicked

I'd considered the de-click might have been for video purposes, but don't most people who do video use a zoom?
Just search Ebay for "de-clicked lens"
This makes my blood boil......

Notice he doesn't mention the de-clicking in the main body.

Your forgetting that most photographers are brainless idiots who think nothing of destroying a classic lens for a feature that they will hardly ever use.

I seem to have not made that as clear as I intended. I meant to say photographers that use makes other than Pentax and are very busy butchering lenses to fit their junk cameras etc.

Here's a decent-ish deal for someone looking for a top portrait lens. This copy isn't in fabulous shape but is probably £200 cheaper than the usual 'good shape' versions. It comes boxed (send that box my way for £10 + postage!) so that helps a bit too.
Hood, caps included.
Cheers.
