Can anyone tell me why this lens is now advertised at £600 more expensive than the RRP stated in the official Pentax press release, still up on their site!
Press Release £3399.99 - UK Dealers £3999.99 - B&H US dealer $4,996.95
As one who has been disappointed with the 645Z and the response or lack of it from Pentax to the issues raised this is the end for me.
Just more of rip off UK.

Hi Roy,
Very interesting, I was looking at ordering one before the end of Aug, and I'm 99% sure it was £3399 at Clifton Cameras the other day with a free 540Z Flash.
Just checked Clifton Camera's who I use a lot,SRS and Wex and your correct, £3999, wont be having one at that price !

I know how you feel I am probably go to trade the lot in if that is the way they are going to treat their UK customers. The 645D is a great camera. I am afraid the 645Z or at least the sample I have got is not living up to the hype.
Do you have the 645Z? If so are you having any issues with it?

Hi Roy, Yes, I have a Z, just over a month now, no issues with it, a slight learning curve as didn't upgrade from a D, love the handling and the IQ

I have received the following response from a product manager at Ricoh Imaging:
"Thanks for your email. As soon as I get a response regarding the aperture issue I will forward it. I will resend the request when I am back in the office in the morning.
Regarding the price of the new lens I am sorry for this but it is our error. I don't know the full ins and outs of it but as I understand the situation our European head office told us to 3399 price before the announcement and then the new 3999 price a few days after. I don't know the reason for the change but think that it was communicated as a correction rather than a price increase. I am told that the change was communicated to the press but once the announcement is made they don't often post updates with the same prominence.
