I have been doing a daily blog on EPZ for some time. Today and tomorrow the subject is Pentax and the Fish-eye lens, not in too much depth, but maybe of interest. Feel free to make comments!

Thanks. An interesting read. Almost makes me want to get one just for a bit of history.

Would it be fair to say that one of the modern developments in the Pentax/Ricoh fish-eye story is the Ricoh Theta? Not K mount, of course, but something has to go in order to get 360 degree coverage. Or could you stitch together overlapping fish-eye shots from DSLR to get a seamless, Theta-like, 360 degree image - sort of panoramic fish-eye ? (He ducks for cover as people shout 'WHY???')

I don't think the two are connected Steve, but I suppose the 360 degree shot is a logical development on its own.

I've always liked fish-eye images though and the zoom with its almost-rectilinear long end is quite a versatile lens to own.

That was one of the holiday cottages we stayed in, near Exeter.
