There is always a downside to a massive drop (albeit temporary) on new for anyone trying to sell theirs.

Have to say though i'm surprised SRS aren't getting onboard with these offers...that's twice Park have done this in past few weeks.

Is it really worth it beyond the name and the 'vibes'?

From a retaillers pov?...Hard to say without knowing their buying price...i'm assuming they are not selling at a loss.

Amazon have operated like this since they started and with Pentax changing the way they sell to their customers then maybe this is 'the future of UK Pentax retail'.

I'd rather buy from a specialist UK camera retailer than Amazon

From a customers pov?...Definitely YES if the lens you were waiting to drop in price comes up. I'd guess someone on this site may have purchased at that price.

Believe me they are....

My best guess is that they have had one in stock for a long time and have decided to reduce the price until it sells.

Hi Mike - for me, very well, for others I'm not so sure, hence you get the odd bargain appear when a dealer sells excess stock, usually after having not sold the item for a certain set period of time.

This is also the case with Amazon and explains the recent low price on the Silver HD 50mm....

Suspect this may have been a pricing error as it is now back up to £729 with a status of "awaiting stock" - looks like SRS are currently the lowest at £599

I didn't realise the listing at Park Cameras was for a new lens - I thought it was for one used lens!

Why would you want a new one when you could have a MIJ original (again)

I've got one at the moment

And three FA* 85s after I repurchased my old version 2/3 lens
