Pentax 250-600mm Big Glass

That's the F* model same optically as the FA* and about 500grm lighter.
It was the same as the one sold recently link
Pity the nameplates missing?

Unless someone actually comes to look at the lens, because of the
condition you'd need photos of the glass at both ends and check it
out on a camera to conform the AF works OK etc.

Should be worth a minimum of 3k too much for me I'm sorry to say.

I will get photos of the glass at both ends, but i've got no way of checking the AF.

I would accept 1500 for it, as that is how much my course will cost! But any extra is obviously a bonus

The Tripod mount looks remarkably like the FA* 600mm Tripod Mount and not the original not that matters if the optics are OK.

Hi Samfilce

That lens is top of my wish/priority list, however, if I were to blow that much money on a lens my girlfriend would have a very hard time sticking with her 'it's your money' stance she has at present with regard to photography

However, if my lotto numbers come up this weekend in a significant way I'll be on my way with cash

Cheers

I just understand that lenses like this are hard to come by, plus the usual price tag means it is out of most peoples budgets. I'm not a greedy person

Hi Sam. Very interested, and you're close enough weather permitting!

Few questions though, most fairly obvious:-

Is the glass clear and unmarked at both ends, and if poss photos would be appreciated?

Do you have any sample photos taken with it?

Do you any clearer, larger photos of it?

Do you have any of the filters?

Most importantly, what can you tell us of the history, how it lost it's original box, are the serial numbers still intact? Obviously the price is the big draw here, especially if the glass is perfect, but if you don't mind me saying so, 1st post with a lens like this, at this price, does carry some natural suspicions! Should everything be OK, then I could be on my way to see you as soon as the weather allows!

If this is now a Classified Ad I'll move it to the proper place, but it didn't start out like that.
Best regards, John

I will take some photographs of and with the lens tomorrow, as for the history, I have no idea personally. I picked this lens up, along with some others, from a friend of my parents, whose father had passed away and left him with all of this camera gear. I can try and find out a bit more information, but I don't think its very likely as he doesn't know much about camera equipment as it was his fathers.
