Pentax 150-450WR down to £1699 at SRS

Still too expensive for most of us but a very welcome drop in price nonetheless ...saves having to buy in from the EU.

That's a lot better, feel for the people that bought it at launch though ... it was only released a couple of weeks ago.

Mike how do you rate it against the first Sigma 50-500?

looks a lovely lens but way out of my price bracket

I was a bit unsure it it was worth the difference against the newer 50-500mm OS but after using it a bit more today I can see that it is. The fact that it works well with the Pentax 1.4x is also a bonus as I could never get the Sigma OS to AF reliably with it attached.

All I need now is a Pentax body that has decent AF.C tracking and I can dump the Canon gear. I think with Ricoh in charge now there is every chance of that happening.

It would pretty much be the last piece in the puzzle for many of us. It is also something Ricoh must be aware of so with their generally more progressive approach I think it will come and the sooner the better.

How does the actual static focusing speed compare with the SIgma?
