Pentax 12-24mm F4 ED AL [IF] lens, boxed, superb image quality

Pentax 12-24mm F4ED AL [IF] ultra-wide angle zoom lens for sale in very good used condition.

If you're reading this you probably already know this is one of the two or three absolute gems of the Pentax lens lineup, but in case not ... The sharpness of this lens blew me away, and for the price let alone the focal length range IMO there are few, if any, other APS-C lenses from any brand that can touch it. This lens is one of my reasons for staying with Pentax; if there's any sharpness difference compared with the best primes I've used, I couldn't see it. I found myself unexpectedly using it as my go-to lens for 'normal' focal-length landscape shots in the 16-24mm range - I think it may be sharper even than the other standout zoom in the Pentax APS-C range, the 16-85mm. Equivalent 3rd-party lenses don't come close.

It's well-built and pretty fast, covers an extremely useful range with remarkably little distortion or artefacts for such an extreme wide angle at the lower end, and is reasonably compact. Very flare-resistant (especially for an ultra-wide zoom!) and CA is relatively well controlled and if you don't have the facility to remove it in-camera, clears up cleanly and easily using e.g. photoshop CA filter. Has been 100% dependable. Has been stored with silica gel; no sign of lens scratches or fungus (Note: filter not included)

Very sad to see it go, but I need to fund moving to drone photography.
