Optio A10 Dark (not black) screen

Hi all,

I have an Optio A10 camera, which has developed an issue over the last few days.

When I turn it on, it makes all the usual noises and the lens opens as normal. The screen / viewfinder briefly shows me the Pentax/Optio logo with the blue & white clouds, but then I can barely see a thing on the screen when I wish to take a photo. If I point it towards the window, I can just about make out the window shape, however I cannot see anything else. If I take a picture at this point, it shows what I see (very little). Previous photos taken are clearly visible in playback mode.

Any thoughts, please?
