Ones came up locally at a decent price (I think) and was looking for opinions on the lens. Says its in great condition

Same as this one link

Dont know what I'd use it for seeing as it MF?

If it produces quality images I'll buy it so (would be good value it does) .... so is it a good lens?

My repute it is OK but not outstanding. The other Pentax forum has a review of it.

I've got the cheaper non-apo version of the same lens, which is usable and better than a bottle-top, but not as good as say the 55-300 cropped to same image size.

Nothing special to be honest, the one you want is the Sigma 400mm f5.6 APO Tele Macro ... best of luck finding one though, I have been looking for ages.
No equipment list here but thanks for taking an interest. My Flickr

There are several versions of the Sigma 400/5.6.

See e.g.

100 GBP is a good offer, if it is really already an APO version.
I think you could always sell it without loss, if you are not satisfied.

If you are looking for a 400/5.6 APO MACRO (in well used condition) than this might be interesting for you (499):
