On-off switch problem on Pentax K-3 II

My Pentax K-3 II has developed a very sticky on/off switch which is becoming very difficult to operate, any advice on how to deal with this issue would be very welcome. Can it be cleaned with a spray or does it need to be professionally dealt with. Is there anybody in the UK that can deal with it or does it need to go back to Japan.

At least a couple of UK repairers could probably fix that problem - Asahi Photo in Brentford might be able to help, but I guess that other forum members could make other suggestions.
K-3 II, K-3 and a K-70 from SRS (having now relegated the K-30 /"K-50" to a backup body), & some Sigma and Pentax lenses (and a lot of old 35mm gear!)

If it was mine I think I would try a small spray of switch cleaner as a first stab at a fix.

Maybe check and see if there's any debris trapped between the switch and shutter button?

My K3 has the same problem. I think I know the reason though - I got caught by a large wave a couple of years ago and I suspect salt water has crusted around the switch. I have sprayed with electrical switch cleaner, which has helped a bit. The last time I was in Asahi Photo I asked Pramath about a repair and he said it should be simple enough to do. I'm putting up with it for now because it still works, just a bit stiff. If it fails completely I will get it repaired.

I had the same issue - it was some kind of dried oil or gel, quite difficult to see clearly. Some contact cleaner and a q-tip and some careful cleaning dealt with it.
