Night images with the FA*28-70mm

Yesterday late afternoon/evening was the first outing with my newly acquired FA*28-70mm f2.8. High ISO is probably not the greatest asset of the K20D, but I tried my best anyway. The first photos are of the Nidaros Cathedral in Trondheim, the last two of Baklandet and Elgeseter Bridge near the Nidaros Cathedral. All the photos were shot hand held, I could possibly have benefited from having brought along a tripod...

A lovely set Bjørn. I like them all. I think #4 is the only one which shows a bit of wobble to it.
It is a beautiful Cathedral, and you have managed to find an excellent spot to photograph it.
I resorted to buying a couple of postcards when I visited .

Now that's an idea for you .

Pretty good Bjorn. The last time I was there people were sunbathing on the lawns. We would pass by the Cathedral on the way into the city from the hospital.

Thank you for your comments! The Cathedral must be one of the the foremost tourist attractions in Norway, and a much exploited motive in works of art as well as postcards. And it is pretty hard to take photos of the Cathedral from a distance, without it ending up looking like a postcard I guess one has to move in closer to compose images that are less figurative or more abstract.

I am happy to learn that some of you know Trondheim, and the area where I shot these photos, rather well.

A lovely set of photos. Nice use of lights and reflections and I like the "blueness".

All very good. Like number 5 mainly because it evokes happy memories of various towns I've visited. Never had the time for photography though
