I've not used this yet or the previous program by Andrea which has been discussed quite a bit on the US forum. I imagine that this should be quite good.

The current thread on the US forum is.....

Shame it will seemingly only work with cameras that have built-in Wi-Fi and not those that could use the FluCard.

It is a shame.... they might have to do the unthinkable with their cameras and actually take photographs

No mention of which Windows versions it is compatible with and which it isn't.
I put apps on my phone, but PCs other than Win10 don't call programs apps. So guess it won't work on Win7.
Some basic get you started instruction might be useful too.
Why do some programmers forget the basics?!

I think Win7 will be OK. It would probably help reading the original thread for bits of info. I would have liked to have seen instructions, but it is quite a feat writing the program and it's still FREE

Just downloaded and had a quick try out. Looks pretty good, in fact looks damn good for a free product written by somebody out of their enthusiasm for the brand.
And for those of us with sticky fingers it's a joy to use a mouse.
BTW, I see no reason why it shouldn't work on Win 7 although my test was on Win 10, it seems a well behaved Windows application.

Tried today on 64bit Win7 no problems. I had already logged onto the camera and the program found it straight away.

Very nice program... change settings using LV on PC etc. Click frame to AF. Right click to DL. Took about 6 shots full sized JPG's probably took about 20 secs each to DL to PC. I had Farstone logged onto the DL folder on the Desktop that showed the pics once they had downloaded.

I doubt if I'll use it much an Eye-Fi Card suits me better.

Ive loaded it on win 10, but not connected my K1 as yet to try it out.. Looks like your writing the get going instructions Algi…

I think it will work great with my studio portraiture.. and lighting. Always better to see the shot in a larger way than the rear screen..

Does this mean were no longer dependant on Lightroom ?

Very easy. See the page from the K-1 manual here...
https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/6-pentax-dslr-discussion/366185-wifi-command...

Also look at the menu item 'Communication Info' and write down the password... something like A49*0D**.

Turn the camera wi-fi mode on.

Log off from your router or boot up with the router switched off.
From the PC view available wireless networks. Chose to connect to the one that has Pentax in the name. Enter the password when asked. PC should log onto camera straight away.

Click refresh if need be in WiFi Commander it should find the camera. Choose LV from WiFi Commander it should switch to LV and show camera frame on your monitor. Click on monitor image around the centre to AF.

Right click image taken and chose download. I saved it to the desktop and it made a folder with the Pentax name and saved the files in it.

You only need Explorer to see the DL'd images or use Farstone. I don't use Lightroom.

If you use it, consider a donation to Andrea for bringing something to Pentax that Ricoh don't seem to be able to do.

Welcome to the forum Andrea and Thanks for all the work you have put into this program.

Tethering isn't for me, but a lot of people have been asking for it. I hope they like it.

Hi,

tethering has a limited interest. I use the app to avoid to connect the USB cable or to open/close the sd cards door but it could be very usefull in still life, macro reproduction, film scan and astrophotografy.

Also I hope so

tethering has a limited interest, it's true. I use the software to avoid to connect the USB cable or to open/close the sd cards door but it could be very usefull in still life, macro reproduction, film scan and astrophotografy. The app can also be used with tablets. In the next releases I will add the "programmed shots", a sort of interval shooting.

Cheers

Boys and Girls... v 1.0.5 is online. Please, first uninstall previous versions because I had to change the installer due to security stuffs.

Enjoy
