Need Lightroom V3 Help file

Ever since I started with V1, I set Lightroom up to import new photos into a specific folder
on my E: drive (PC formatted into C;, D: (apps) and E: (data), i.e. E:MyDocumentsCaplio
(The only digital camera I had was a Caplio GX. Now I am on version 3, and I am stuck with it because
my PC only runs Win 10 Pro/32.

This all worked fine until about a year ago, but now all my new photos are being imported into
C:usersAndrewpictures and I cannot fathom out what I have changed or how I
can reset it to 'normal behaviour'. Just to make matters worse, F1 no longer gives any help because
Adobe have either moved or removed the old Lightroom V3 help documents (grrr).

Does anyone have V3 help files downloaded anywhere ?. Or is there a quick registry tweak to
point my version of lightroom back to my E: drive when importing new photos ?.

A few months ago I had a similar problem, it took over an hour to sort it out.

The answer was found to be a change in the destination

Corrected via Import > Copy > Search to locate required destination Drive etc.

Import bottom left

Copy > Search Below the top tool bar and top right

Not sure if that helps

I have never trusted Lightroom to import or move my image files. I drag them from the card into the folders where I want them. Then I go into Lightroom and import the images using "Add". Witgh this selected, Lightroom adds the images to the catalogue and leaves them where they are. I use Macs but it is the same on a PC I believe.
Kind regards, HazyJ

More than one way to do this. You just need to select the folder you want the imported files to go to.

It is really very easy.

If you are worried for some reason about LR not importing them, then you can look in the relevant folder on your Mac (where you are expecting them to be) and they will be clearly seen. They are not hidden in some way, unlike the way Photos does it.
The only thing you can do wrong when importing them straight from the SD card is to accidentally choose 'Add' from the options. You need to make sure it's on 'Copy' or 'Move.'
