It shows you, all the reviews who nit-pick about a litte something her or there. its all crap.

This pictures are really beautiful.

I also own the same lens. i actually had to save my coins to buy it.
It is great to see pictures from users of this lens and what it can do.
Makes me glad, that I have the same ones.

Talking about portraits of mainly you children.

I have a similar problem. I only have 2 grandchildren. I can hardly
go and try to photograph other peoples children I don't know. I'll end up being called a you know what. Or some nice young girl in the street, then its "look at the dirty old man" and the cops come running.

This leaves me with some old dears I know, but don't really feel like photographing.

Also back to the grandchildren.

Ah well, back to 'nice shot' it is... I doubted it would last.

I think the uncropped colour portrait is even nicer than the B&W. A softer look, somehow, without any loss of what appears to me as a really keen intelligence.

Not bothered about the background - it balances nicely with the also OOF green top, and the eyes are so compelling that the distraction is negligible. A very good use of depth of field, in fact.

I still think a bit of work on the exposure in the one of the three of them would make it even better. Getting expressions as good as that from three kids simultaneously is really hard, and you've done a marvellous job there.

I pretty much agree, the alleged distracting background doesn't bother me either.

#10 - the gang, both the B&W and the colour versions could do with some dodging and burning to make it pop but what's important is that that there's a great pic there to build upon.
