A fascinating short video from Sean Tucker on using a Ricoh GR for his street photography.

Also a great camera to emulate the Chinese photographer Fan Ho. I liked the way that Sean could just use a thumbwheel to change shutter speed or aperture...... altering the exposure individual elements of the view - and turning shadows black while getting a good exposure on highlights. Being a Pentax user I thought I'd get myself a Ricoh GRIII but - considering the fixed lens and lack of both a built in flash and optical viewfinder - consider it too expensive for my occasional needs. I was then given an old camera (Lumix, with a Leica lens) and tried the 'single thumb' exposure setting technique..... didn't quite work, as it needed a 'helf-press' test of shutter to see what you've got for each exposure setting. I'll give it a go, though - the technique doesn't necessarily need speed and could be solved. After that, I tried the technique on my old Pentax MX-1 pocket camera, which had been redundant for some years, and that worked as well - after a fashion. So I'm raring to go.... except I've got some walking problems now and can't wander around a city for a day. Still - there are solutions and possible alternative locations!

Another big thumbs up for Sean Tucker, though. A really thoughtful photographer who has done a lot of street photography. He's now moved to some place called 'Yorkshire'.

Fascinating. He is a very good presenter.
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass

Agreed. I love his comments about reducing confrontation as well.
