to be honest it would hve to be a film camera like the me super with plenty off film as if you are marooned on a island it would meen there is no power so you would be stuffed with a moden one after a couple off days

This island has a single UK mains port and a SD card slot linked to a 500TB cloud storage unit. Don't ask how it got there.

Does it have to be Pentax?

A sign on the island states: "The brand of your equipment matters not, for it is the image that captures the hearts, not the means"

Cool island...

No idea what you're on HarisF1 but may I have some please?

What you need are lenses, more lenses, bigger lenses, better lenses, faster lenses, vintage lenses and when you have these, your pictures will be perfect!

A purple haze forms the words: "Name three lenses... dammit"

A shiver runs down your spine...

Abundant water, sustainable food and "companionable" company - and THEN I might decide about the lenses
K-3 II, K-3 and a K-70 from SRS (having now relegated the K-30 /"K-50" to a backup body), & some Sigma and Pentax lenses (and a lot of old 35mm gear!)

OK, so first of all we have to assume an electricity supply and hopefully a PC to process and store the images. Things look less remote than we might have started with. However, let's suppose we were placed on Ascension Island, say for a six month contract. The the scenario could be perfectly reasonable.

So the Pentax K-1, with 15-30mm, 24-70mm and 70-200mm lenses would be the thing to choose. I would like to add a 100mm macro and the 150-450mm but the scenario given doesn't allow that.
Best regards, John

Finally someone gets the point!

Interesting that you went for the pro zoom option there, I might have picked something a bit more prime orientated myself but yours makes way more sense. Covering all bases very well (and no, you can't have those last two lenses!).

Mmm, remote island probably loads of interesting bugs and stuff, 105mm macro would have to be in there, 16-85 mm and a 150-450 mm
They would be my picks
I know what i like, If not always why.

Hmm - I AM on a remote island: It's called the Land of Oz!
And yes, lots of interesting bugs (and spiders, and snakes...), so the Tammy 90 Macro would need to be in there. The DFA 15-30 next, and either the FA 50 1.4 or DA 70 Ltd. Can't decide.
