Macro of an unknown beastie

Took this yesterday but have no idea what type of insect it is. Maybe a species of ladybird??

I know them too well! Had a huge infestation of them this year. My advice is to get of rid of them as you see them. I saw them last year and at first thought they would be eating aphids (like a ladybird) . I found out that they were actually eating the rosemary but I don't like killing bugs unless I have to so I left them alone (our rosemary bush is pretty big...)

However, they bred like rabbits and then this year they nearly killed the rosemary and the lavender. I picked dozens off the bush and about 100 of their grubs.
You will only prise my 43Ltd from my cold, dead hands...
