Macro Extension Tubes

Look for a set of PKA tubes made by Jessops or Danubia. You may need to file a bit of paint off one of the contacts on the tube/s when you find them otherwise the lens will not work correctly with the body.
They aren't made any longer though so you will have to source a used set.

If it's any use I have a set of Jessops (3) and a set of Triplus (2) - the Triplus have the full set of contacts and chrome faces so don't need any modification, the Jessops need to be "modified" as Mike has suggested.

Also look at something like the Raynox DCR-150 or DCR-250. They are an addon that attaches to the front of your main lens via an adapter.
One I took a few days ago with the 250 on the Pentax F 135mm f2.8

That's awesome. I will look into it, I've seen some other shots on a Tamron page that mentions the 250. Cheers Mike.

Some tubes are marked "P-AF" or "Pentax AF" (such as the Triplus tubes) but this has always referred to the fitting and I have never seen or used an actual tube that autofocuses (apart from a de-glassed tele-converter)

The ones depicted in the link do appear to show an auto focus screw drive pin though, unless my poor eyesight deceives me!

I use a 25mm Kooka af extension tube. It's a very tight fit and you have to mount it with the aperture lever in the extension tube in the right place because it isn't spring loaded. A bit of a pain in the field, It AF's with both screw and sdm lenses fine (mainly used with FA*300 F4.5, DA*300 F4 and FA 100 F3.5) once you get it mounted correctly.
Here's an example of it on an DA*300 F4.
Not used the twin tubes shown though as they weren't available last year when I got mine.

Seems like its sucessful despite the mounting struggles...
