I am hoping for a private seller with experience of the lens. The last two lenses i have bought from an allied seller on here have been disappointing. One decentred and one only acceptably sharp. Not SRS by the way.

have bought quite a few items from MPB and had no problems , they have a sigma 17-50 f2.8 in as well. My current camera came from them.They give 6 month guarantee whereas SRS give 12 months again bought quitea few bits from them with no problems.

Have you thought about this Sigma?

Really good lens for the money and if the cracked hood is a problem I imagine a replacement wouldn't be too expensive.
