Had my first attempt at some street photography @ Trafalgar Sq in London last Saturday.

All shots K5iis with Sigma 70 - 200 mostly at F2.8 , Constructive comments and thoughts appreciated please

I really like the first one; (although I would be tempted to crop the bottom tight to the bottom of the lowest step). I also like the third (Engrossed), but I find the white square just by the girl's hand a distraction; I think that it would be a stronger image if you were to clone it out.

Thanks for your comment's Phil, I did try and remove the sign, its a No Entry sign in one of the squares fountains, but because the lassies fingers and knuckle extends into the sign I couldn't remove it effectively, I also tried toning the brightness down on the sign, but that didn't lose it sufficiently either.

Nice set Chris - the first one is the real stand out one for me, the simplicity of the composition is excellent

I'm with the consensus - #1 works best for me, especially because of the quirkiness in that backpacked sunflower and the colours in the character's jacket. He seems to be texting the flower, which in turn seems to be trying to talk to him... I think they might both be strong enough to warrant cutting out the negative space and cropping to a square...

+1 for me too... strong and direct composition... four out of five have people engaging with their phones as the subject... an idea for an extended series perhaps?
