Lens repair

Hi fellow followers, I have a slightly sick DFA150-450. It records 310mm to the taken file regardless of the focal length. Also for a long time now it hunts for focus, not in a “can’t find the target” way more in a sickly focussing physical way. It’s never been banged or dropped ever so has to be something quite minor.
I sent it to Pentax official repair via SRS and it came back with an eye-watering quote of half its value new.
I love this lens and don’t want it to go so I need to know if anyone out there knows a reputable lens repair specialist that can have a look at it for me. Sadly Alan Marlow has retired and can’t help, is there anyone else?
Thanks.

There's usually a fork contact piece that controls the zoom and focus data. A damaged contact or trace would cause the hunting issues you're seeing.

It's an unusual problem to come across if the lens hasn't been disassembled or dropped!

Good luck with finding someone to sort it out.

I would suggest Asahi Photo, but they suggested I send my FA 77 Ltd to John Pye (assuming that's who SRS suggested). I have got a feeling that Asahi aren't 'equipped' for the most modern lenses even though they repaired the SDM motors in my 16-50.
