Lens Prices in the UK

When looking in Ebay for prices on the current range of Pentax SLR lenses, I found them to be on average nearly twice the cost of the Australian prices.
Compare this 2: 221278567314 and 231099192409.

This also applies to some just out of production lenses.
e.g. 231092624840

I bought a new lens like this one year ago in Australia for around 450 Dollars

The Hong Kong prices are somewhere in between.

Somebody must make big bucks on Lenses in England.

Well Australia is a lot closer to the manufacturing base of course, and has only 10%GST (VAT).

Often the prices here are a lot higher than in the UK, but at the moment they seem to be cheaper link. Slightly more expensive here but they have an English website.

Nothing to stop you buying from a cheaper European country.

Items sold in a market are sold at a price that the market is prepared to accept. That is why nearly everything in GB is more expensive than anywhere else in the world, because we are prepared to accept the price on offer.
